The Trench Master

In my humble opinion BURBERRY is without a doubt the master of the trench coat. I decided to do a little searching in history to see how they managed to get such a head start on other designers when applied to this massive staples of fashion, The Trench. I "discovered" on the Burberry site, that in 1895 Burberry invented the prototype of the trench coat which was then called a Tielocken it was a popular garment amongst british soldiers in the Boer war. It was not until 1914 that Burberry was commisioned to up the ante of the Tielocken to meet battle requirements. The new coat was called the "Trench coat". Mmmmm I love fashion history. So now I know exactly why they are so expensive. I also know why they are so damned sexy.
